There are days when I’m feeling sort of unappreciated and frustrated by the business and now when I have those days, I will have the majesty of Seth. Señor Rudetsky, you are my Hebrew hero.

Amen, Seth.
Big love to you and that cast, Jason!
Well, THAT was a blast.
I’ve decided that a Seth Rudetsky deconstruction is the musical theatre equivalent of a Weird Al Yankovic parody. Congrats on the honor! 😀
Thank you, Seth, for stating that the 13 score should have received more recognition.
My favorite song from the show is “If That’s What It Is.” Since it’s a trio, I never expected Jason to perform it, so it was an unexpected thrill to hear him sing it at a concert in NY last December.
Wasn’t it Paul Simon who said he knew he’d arrived when he heard one of his songs in an elevator?
This Rudeconstruction also shows what a great job was done casting this show, and marrying the cast to the score.
JRB, Seth is SO right on SO many fronts! 13 is genius, it was an absolute CRIME that it wasn’t nominated for more Emmys, and Seth picks up on just a handful of the countless musical gem moments in your magnificent score.
Over a year after I saw this on Broadway, I STILL listen to the CD often to recall my fave tracks. Today it’s ‘What it means to be a friend’, yesterday it was ‘All hail the brain’, last week it was ‘Getting ready’.
Bravo, JRB, bravo!
