SET LIST 1/30/11, JRB & SHOBEAN IN LOS ANGELES

1/31/11

Hoo y’all, we had some kind of party last night at Show At Barre in Los Feliz. Shane Scheel and his great staff packed the joint to don’t-tell-the-fire-marshal levels, and that crowd was rocking! I will continue in my conviction that Shoshana Bean is simply the most perfect singer in the musical theater. It is a privilege and a party every single time we get to play together. Here’s the list! All Things In Time (Shoshana) I Could Be In Love With Someone Like You (from Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes) (JRB) Anywhere But Here (from Honeymoon In Vegas) (Shoshana) KingRead More »

But the fact that it’s hard does not diminish your love – it must not. You go on loving that thing because, even if it’s naïve, even if it’s foolish, even if it’s wrong, you believe in the very marrow of your bones that you willRead More »

ASK JRB: AN EMAIL INTERVIEW

1/5/11

A theater in the UK is doing a production of The Last Five Years, and they asked if I would be willing to do an e-mail interview for publicity. This happens a lot, and since the questions are often very similar, I thought I’d post my responses here and maybe save everyone a little time in the future! 1) Jason Robert Brown, why did you first decide to become a composer, particularly for Musical Theatre works? That was a decision I made long before I knew I was making decisions. I loved musicals when I was a kid, particularly WestRead More »
