A really fun show tonight in Fargo, my first time in North Dakota. The company asked me to do a two-act show, so I had to pull out some material that I don’t usually do in order to fill a whole evening by myself. Some surprises below!
All Things In Time
I Could Be In Love With Someone Like You
She Cries
Long Long Road
No Way Now
If I Didn’t Believe In You
I’m In Bizness
[as a solo! I got inspired to do it because there are two pianists (@sometimeskelly and @pianoleo) on Twitter who both transcribed my solo on this tune from the “Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes” CD (and both did an amazing job, though I haven’t gotten a chance to dig too deeply into their work).]
Stars and the Moon
[Yep, with me singing it. I haven’t sung this song in public in years, and it was a blast! Now I know why people like it so much!]
Being A Geek
INTERMISSION
When You Say Vegas
Out Of The Sun
Nothing In Common
King of the World
The Old Red Hills of Home/Over
Caravan of Angels
Moving Too Fast
Someone To Fall Back On
Looking forward to the opening night of 13 here in Fargo – I worked with the kids this afternoon and they are fierce. Thanks to Scott Brusven and the whole gang at FMCT for having me out here; and hey, not a woodchipper in sight!

Oooh I’d be very interested in seeing your rendition of “Stars and the Moon” (never mind “King of the World” and “Old Red Hills”). Any chance of ever seeing a live DVD or something of you? I know that’s probably hard because you have a “cult” fan base or whatever (and you had trouble getting a DVD made of the SFANW concert a few years back), but is there any way we as fans could contribute to having some more JRB material available?
The show you did last night was absolutely wonderful! Loved the opening number and the rest was phenomenal too. Thank you for coming to Fargo to share your talent with FMCT’s cast of 13 and with our entire community.
I drove 4 hours to JRB in Fargo and it was AMAZING. We were so excited to hear him to a few unique pieces, especially “Stars and the Moon.” Also loved the songs from Honeymoon in Vegas. Hopefully that gets produced soon! Also laughed and laughed and laughed at “I Could Be in Love With Someone Like You.” Thanks JRB!
Old Red Hills of Home/Over?
Man, I’d love to hear how you combine those two. Alas, I was stuck mere hours away stage managing…
JRB, thanks so much for playing in Fargo! I was at the concert and it was AMAZING! I am a jewish 13 year old girl in Fargo so i understand 13 (the reason you came to Fargo) and it was really great to meet you and get your autograph! I really enjoyed the concert! I was there with my friend Nora who is one of your youngest biggest fans ever – she was saying her life was complete for meeting you! I loved hearing all the songs you played for us!
Thanks again!

Thank you so much for coming to Fargo and sharing your time and talents with the cast of 13 and the community. The concert was amazing and your Q&A inspiring. My daughter and every other kid in the cast will remember this as one of the highlights of their lives.
Jason,
You would have been very pleased with Roustabout’s production of 13. They learned a lot from you back in May.
