News, news, lots of news!
I go to New York on Monday to start rehearsals for the big all-star Songs for a New World concert at Strathmore. Man, I’m excited about this. Alice came over this week and was rehearsing with me and holy cats, can that woman sing. Did you buy your tickets yet? Huh, did ya? Did ya? Huh?
Closer to home, I’ve got a weekend of great concerts coming up. On June 8, I’ll be down in Rolling Hills, CA for a swingin’ night with the Caucasian Rhythm Kings and our special guest Jan Bunker. Then, the next night, June 9, the boys and I will be the closing concert for the Chorus America convention at the very sexy Millennium Biltmore in downtown L.A. Hope you SoCal Brownies can make it to those gigs!
Other than that, just writing, writing, writing, and occasionally eating. Auditions for Parade at the Donmar Warehouse this fall are going great, and Alfred and I are making some very exciting revisions to the script and score.
Fun things going on at the website: new interviews, reviews, some early Songs for a New World demos, and a full guide to all the music on the site. Check it out, read the blog, let me know what you think about all the stuff happening at jasonrobertbrown.com!
And I have lots of really juicy news about The Last Five Years, 13, and Honeymoon In Vegas, but I can’t tell you any of it. I’m sorry to tease you like that, but there’s nothing to be done.
All right, I have to go revise lyrics for the first scene of Act II of Honeymoon In Vegas or Bergman’s gonna come after me with a tire iron. Peace out, whatever that means.
Until next time, i miei amici,
Jason Robert Brown
