Yes, it’s hot. Yes, it’s humid. Yes, the Republican Convention. Yes, yes, yes to all of that misery BUT there is relief on the horizon!
This Wednesday night, July 27, as part of my SubCulture residency, I’m sharing the stage with the amazing singer/songwriter/pianist/genius child Shaina Taub for an amazing show.
If you’ve never heard Shaina do her thing, you have exquisite pleasures ahead of you. I first heard her only last year singing at the Lilly Awards and I’ve become a rabid fan. (And her new album is ALL THE THINGS. All of them.)
I’m singing her songs, she’s singing my songs, we’re all playing any instrument we’ve ever played in our lives, we wrote arrangements for each other’s tunes which we won’t get to hear until the show itself (which is hysterical and terrifying), plus there’s the great Randy Landau and Benny Koonyevsky to pick up whatever we drop on the floor.
There are still a couple of tickets available – information is right here – and as always, the air conditioning works and the bar is open. Come join us, this Wednesday July 27 at 8 pm at SubCulture, 45 Bleecker St. (corner of Lafayette). I guarantee you It’s gonna trump everything else going on this summer.
See you there!
