It’s official, y’all: The full cast and creative team has been announced for the world premiere of “13”, a new musical by Jason Robert Brown and Dan Elish, which will play the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, December 22-February 18. The show, to be directed by Todd Graff, will open officially on January 7.

“13” is the story of Evan, a nice Jewish boy from the Upper West Side who moves to Appleton, Indiana in the midst of his parents’ tempestuous divorce. Once in Appleton, Evan has four weeks to convince all the cool kids in the school to come to his bar mitzvah, and he has to do it without compromising who he really is.

Ricky Ashley is Evan, and the other principals are Tyler Mann, Sara Niemietz, Emma Degerstedt, Caitlin Baunoch, and J. D. Phillips. The ensemble members: Jenáe Burrows, Julia Harriman, Jordan Johnson, Tinashe Kachingwe, Ryan Ogburn, Rachael Page, Ellington Ratliff, Alex Scolari, Chloé Smith, Christian Vandal, and Seth Zibalese. “13” also has a teenage band: guitarists Chris Raymond and Molly Bernstein, bassist Nehemiah Williams, drummer Jamie Eblen, and music associate Charlie Rosen.

The rest of the awesome creative staff: choreography by Michele Lynch, musical direction by David O., band direction by Craig Wolynez, set design by David Gallo, costume design by Candice Cain, lighting design by Mike Baldassari, sound design by Duncan Robert Edwards, and projection design by Zachary Borovay.
